Yeezy 350 V2 Sand Taupe Review

Kanye West is back at it again with another new colorway of his collaboration with Adidas, the Yeezy Boost 350 V2. It was released last Saturday, December 19, via electronic raffle in the Adidas app and I was lucky to get a pair.

Dubbed as “ S A N D T A U P E “, this new colorway symbolizes the Pantones of a desert, combines a multitude of the different earth tones.

Kanye named this colorway as “ E L I A D A “ which is Hebrew for “God is knowing” but he dipped the biblical names during release this year.

DESIGN

The prime knit upper arrives in updated fashion with no heel tab and translucent strip while pitching on a different shades of brown. The tonal midsole and rubber outsole that finishes the new look.

The shoes itself has infinity laces but it comes with an extra 3M reflective regular laces.

Packaging: Comes in a regular yeezy shoe box with labels on the side.

Estimated Resell Value

Although we’ve seen a lot of similar colorways of the 350’s like this before, at the end of the day it’s still a pair of yeezys and it will sell out.

The estimated resell value in Canada would probably go up by 35% from its retail value. A gross profit of 80 CAD to 100 CAD.

A 2-hour drive East from Downtown Toronto, you’ll find this gem in Prince Edward County. A Provincial park in Ontario surrounded by vineyards and small towns. Known as the world’s largest baymouth barrier dune formation. It has three expansive sandy beaches that some say are among the best in Canada; Outlet Beach is perfect for families, with shallow waters and gentle drop off. Its location jutting out into Lake Ontario means that this park is a bird migration hotspot in spring and fall. The walking trails that allow visitors to experience the dune and wetland habitats of the park.

Before you visit: check what facilities/activities are available and pack what you need (e.g. water, snacks hand sanitizer).
When you visit: Continue to follow public health advice including physical distancing by keeping at least two metres from others, wearing a face covering where required and when physical distancing may be challenging or not possible, washing hands regularly with soap and water or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer if soap and water are not available.

Yeezy 350 V2 Natural Reflective Review

Okay, so it arrived, as you guys know about my addiction with shoes that’s on the shades of white. Its quite a while now since I purchased my first of Adidas boost(ZX 500 RM). It wasn’t a plan for me to get a yeezy but oh well, my raffle won anyways. What happened was I had a notification from my Adidas app that they are dropping a new 350 yeezys during my birthday week, so I entered the raffle thinking out of thousands joining there’ll be a thin chance of getting picked and completely forgot about it. Then last Friday, as I was working, I received a confirmation email regarding my order from Adidas. At first, I thought my credit card has been used for some fraud or scam(LMAO) and then everything sinks in, my first ever yeezy sneakers on its way. Yay!

I live in Canada, don’t really get it why it is so hard to cop a pair of nice shoes since last year. LOL Well, today I got a UPS mail heading to my address from Paris, Ontario.

A quick advice though, if you just want to cop a nice shoes, unique ones or collab, try to get them within the country(Canada). It is for the reason of — DUTIES, DUTIES, DUTIES. Your customs duty fees will be almost the amount of the shoes itself.

Got so excited to cop this one cause its been hard to get one lately this year. I remember how hard it is to get a pair of Converse X A-Cold-Wall hight tops shoes last month. Sizes got sold out after 5 minutes when the ACW site did a pre-release and during the official release date.

Well, let’s do a review!

Got it from Adidas.ca site and it was shipped after 48 hours. It was raining non-stop and the way the packed it was a little bit alright. A little bit wet since it was left in the porch.

They used infinity shoelaces and if you don’t like how it does when wearing it then you need to cut it and you can use the regular shoelaces that comes with it. The down side about it is that you can’t really tighten it. For me I think I understand the design, it might be the reason why the shoe sizes are a bit tighter maybe because they are trying to get rid of shoe laces few years from now… maybe?… just like my pharells I really haven’t adjusted or use its laces for a while. lol.

Based on the 350’s predecessors, haven’t really seen pull tabs lately from this design. Been a while now that they removed it out the design.

The only thing that made me sign up for this purchase is because of its color way even yeezy released like a hundred of colorways over this design. Its just hard for me to get excited with this one for the reason that I’ve seen so much colorways. The only question for me is that why did they released this mid Fall? 350s are usually a spring/summer sneakers. The color is of this one is a bit earthy and somewhat like the sesame and cream ones.

Overall, I would give this shoe an 8/10. I like it since it fit perfectly, and I kinda like the idea of not tying any laces on, and definitely the color way.

A place with so much history.

Ninh Binh is stunning and diverse; it is also extremely traveler friendly. However, Ninh Binh remains far less popular than its sister to the northeast, Ha Long Bay.

During our Southeast Asia tour, we chose this country as our last stop because of these following photos and reasons why we loved it here and why we want to go back for more! I will definitely go back for more… coffee and coffee and Jana Mae’s terrible noise! :)

When is the best time to visit Ninh Binh or Vietnam in general?

Ninh Binh is located in Northern Vietnam where there are four distinct seasons. Summer is very hot and winter, by contrast, can get very cold. Ninh Binh’s delta location means the landscape is very flat. The area often experiences flooding and sometimes even landslides during the rainy season (approximately May to September), so it might be wise to plan a trip outside those times to be on the safe side. But for us we need to pray for a better weather since while we are in Myanmar few weeks before our trip here in Vietnam, I have seen friends visiting the province and saw their IG Stories that its weather permitting going up to the look out and the weather was changing every minute, considering that our visit is June! in the middle of their wet season. But we prayed all the gods from the temples in Bali, pagodas in Bagan, and Temples in Thailand. IT GAVE US MOSTLY SUNNY DAYS AHEAD OF US!

So here are the reasons why I feel in love with this place!!

Scenic Views

Ninh Binh is also known as the Ha Long Bay on land for an obvious reason – it looks like Ha Long Bay but on land instead of water. There are hundreds of limestone monoliths topped by dense greenery that emerge from the ground, scattered around the city with rivers flowing through them and caves formed in them. While the mountains are in the west and northwest, the east and south have coastal parts. Ninh Binh really does have everything.

Convenient Location

Ninh Binh is only 95 kilometers away from Hanoi (about a 2-3-hour journey) and makes for a good first stop for those making their journey slowly from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City in the south. You can even get here quite conveniently from Ha Long Bay. Catching overnight buses from Ninh Binh to other cities is pretty easy too – ask your hotel reception and they will help you out.

A chance to ride the Reunification Express

While the train option between cities far away from one another is sometimes slow, uncomfortable, with problems and delays, this is not the case for Ninh Binh. Since Ninh Binh is only three hours away from Hanoi, you should definitely opt to visit there on the Reunification Express. Time to tick that off your bucket list!

Day trip possible

If you get to Ninh Binh early in the morning, you can easily cover a few attractions such as Tam Coc, Trang An and the pagodas scattered around them. You can even make time to visit the beautiful Gothic Phat Diem Cathedral which is about a 40-minute drive away from the center. Although it is best to spend more than a day here, many of us can be strapped for time, and if that’s the case for you, Ninh Binh makes for a perfect day trip option from Hanoi or Ha Long Bay.

Trang An

Is a complex of mountains and caves to which you can only get to by water. There are eight caves to explore on boat. On the way you will see many beautiful religious structures, surrounded by green nature, giving the area a rather serene outlook. Go early in the morning around 7 a.m. to fully enjoy your experience.

There are so many caves formed naturally or artificially inside the limestone mountains. In Trang An, you can ask your boat peddler to take you through eight caves. Make sure you duck your head as you make your way through some of the caves. Some walls aren’t high enough and some rock formations are quite pointy. The peddler will warn you when you have to duck. What’s also interesting is that the peddlers have learnt to peddle with their feet to avoid getting injured.

Hang Mua Peak

This is the best place to get an elevated view of the area. After a steep climb of around 400 steps, you will surely be rewarded on top with opportunities to take magnificent Instagram viral-worthy shots. Make sure to take a bottle of water – the climb up isn’t easy. You will also bump into goats.

After a long day visiting the Elephant Sanctuaries in the Jungles of Chiang Mai, we rushed to the airport and catch our afternoon flight to Vietnam. It was our last leg in SEA Trip. I was a little sentimental about it since the long trip is about to end! Well, we saved the best for last.

Hanoi;

Hanoi has a fantastic and modern airport called Noi Bai Airport, which is just 10 miles north of the city. It serves both domestic and international flights from hundreds of locations around the world. Assuming Hanoi is your port of entry into Vietnam, then you’ll probably be arriving at Noi Bai International Airport which is about 45 minutes from Hoan Kiem District. There are several ways to get to your hotel or Airbnb from the airport. But before the big adventure we saw P O P E Y E S ! ! ! ! and the rest was history LOL

**Make sure to check if you need a visa before arriving in Hanoi** (Americans and citizens from many other countries can apply for an e-visa online for $40). If you get an e-visa, you can pick it up at the airport if you print out the necessary papers. It’s easy.

In fact, if i plan on living from city to city in the near future, Hanoi will probably be our first stop. It’s one of our favourite cities so far and one we can really see myself living in.

Spend a few days exploring its tree-lined neighborhoods with crumbling but charming French colonial buildings, and you may understand why.

I’m a Philippine passport holder so I can visit Vietnam visa-free for up to 21 days. Requirements and fees may vary depending on what passport you carry, so you can visit iVisa.com for more information and to apply. In my case, the process was quick and easy.

Technically, Hanoi has two main seasons – rainy (May-Sept) and dry (Oct-Apr) – though it does experience variances in weather that can simulate the four seasons.

The unit of currency in Vietnam is the Vietnamese Dong (VND). The best places to exchange foreign currency are at banks and gold/jewelry shops.

The most well known and important districts in Hanoi are Ba Dinh District (aka the French Quarter) where the government offices are located and Hoan Kiem District (aka the Old Quarter) which is considered the city’s business hub and main tourist destination.

Vietnamese cuisine encompasses the foods and beverages of Vietnam, and features a combination of five fundamental tastes in overall meals. Each Vietnamese dish has a distinctive flavor which reflects one or more of these elements.

A quick stop-over in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia.

Their skyline gave me such a nice aesthetics and mood on all of my photos.

Waking up early was all worth it. Soft tones achieved.

The next set of photos was taken inside an old Brothel located in Petaling Street. It was a little bit hidden. You need to look up for the sign since it was located on top of a stationery shop. You’ll be welcomed by the red light( believed to be from the old occupant before it was turned into a cafe) leading upstairs to the main floor of the cafe. Look-up Merchant’s Lane.

A Balinese Experience

A five day with a five star experience.

It is my first time to be in Indonesia and this is the second leg in my Southeast Asia tour! I booked a one way ticket to Denpasar, Bali. The Philippines, as my terminal country, only have three airlines that offer a direct flight to DPS available, Philippine Airline, Cebu Pacific Air and Air Asia.

Tips: If you want to have a variety of flight options, scout for flight prices in Google flights BUT book it on the airline’s website. And if you want to have a discount every time you fly with a certain airline try to enrol yourself with their frequent flyer program.

Preparations

Accommodations: Airbnb, Hostels, Homestays

Prices: 60 CAD to 120 CAD per night

Transportation: KLOOK, TAXI, GrabCar, Go-Jek

What to expect?

Bali is a small province of Indonesia that boosted their tourism and economy because of their pure white sand beaches, hiking, surfing and breath-taking views. The book published by Elizabeth Gilbert called ‘Eat, Pray, Love’ became so famous and it garnered attention of readers and influenced spiritual goers to see Bali themselves. Then in 2010, they made a film adaptation of the book starring Julia Roberts and made its way to a blockbuster film earning more than 200 million dollars.

Now, Bali has developed areas where you can use cars as your means of transportation but most of the places in the island still remain the same which is only accessible through the use of small bikes.

So if you’re from a big city be prepared seeing a flock of motorbikes on the major road and they ignore traffic rules so when crossing the streets just take precautions.

Where to stay?

If you are into shopping and night life, I would recommend the Kuta area and Seminyak area for you to explore. They have a variety of stores for you to shop, from the fanciest local brands and imported ones to the sidewalk stalls that you can bargain with for as low as 10k IDR.

Most tourists flock in Kuta since the airport is nearby plus you have a public accessed beach right away. Plus the dining is not as expensive as the other places in Bali. Seminyak, on the other hand, has a different market. It caters the middle class to Elite groups where shopping malls or boutiques are designed as elegant as possible. This area has a lot of beach club, Fancy Vegan shop, and colourful buildings and alleyway. Just imagine 70’s to 80’s vibe with the presence of modern and industrial vibe.

If you prefer beach and adventure, you might consider checking out the other side of the island. The Sanur Area where you can spot a lot of tours in and out of the island. If you are planning to check out the Nusa Pineda Island, the place for those adventure junkie and beach bum. Besides the island hopping and excursion to the said island, you can also avail those scuba and snorkelling packages.

If you prefer wellness, peace, and nature (Like I do), I recommend the Ubud Area. This place has a lot of things to offer for those who seek relaxation, escape from the modern world activities, and just simply be with nature. It differs from the areas above because mainly it has no sign of big development, it’s in the mountainous area of Bali, and it’s cooler in temperature than the city. You can find the infamous Bali Swing, the Tegallalang Rice Fields, the numerous waterfalls, the abandoned resorts, and other nature-related stuff in Ubud.

What not to miss?

Up for some early morning walk in between the rice fields.

We chased the sunrise and booked a place nearby the Tegallalang Rice Fields. We planned to be up early to avoid a heavy crowd along the rice fields plus we wanted to get the golden color of the sunrise but we failed to do so since the weather was gloomy and the cloud covered the field.

Note that visiting there is free, but they ask for you to drop a small amount of donation for the maintenance of the pathway so the future tourist can safely walk through the muddy path . Use covered shoes instead of flip flops especially during the morning since the path is a bit slippery. Always take precaution, it is not an easy trail as you think. The terraces is made of mud and clay. In some instances it might not carry your weight, some pathways are just plain muddy terrace.

Chase waterfalls, not love nor people (Charot)

“Nungnung waterfall, located 40 kilometers north of Denpasar with a height of 900 meters above sea level. This tourism object is located in Badung District evening. It lies about – about five miles before the bridge Tukad Bangkung known as the tallest bridge in Asia with a specific height of the pillars reached 71.14 meters. In this village there is a waterfall with a height of 50 meters with large water discharge, to reach the location of such waterfall we must trace hilly rice fields about 2 miles from the highway.”[1]

This waterfall is a gem that needs to be experienced and discovered. But there’s a catch, you will experience 10 minutes of hell going down and a dead-ass 20 minutes or so depending on how fit you are going up. *winks

Is it free to go down and see this beauty? The million dollar answer is no, but for them to give us a better stairs to hell to see heaven you need to drop 10,000 IDR before you go down. A value you always waste for a cup of a Starbucks coffee.

Explore the forgotten gems (UrBex)

When driving around Bali, you will pass by a lot of abandoned places. One of this was the Hotel Pondok Indah Bedugul. You will stumble upon this abandoned hotel on the cliff of the mountain on your way to Handara golf club.

“There is a version that the hotel was owned by Tommy Soeharto, the youngest son of the former president Soeharto. The constructions were launched in 1993 and frozen in 1995. There are many rumors and legends about it: After bombing in Kuta in 2002, Tommy’s plans were ruined as tourists didn’t want to come to Bali. He violated some obligations and couldn’t invest in further constructions. Tommy got in jail for an assassination of the Supreme Court judge.”[1]

Found another abandoned amusement park, located south of the island. The park host a theatre, cinema, large function hall, a man-made mountain and few small buildings.

Today, the complex — known as Taman Festival Bali — is slowly being swallowed by the jungle, with vines creeping through the cracks in the walls of long-abandoned buildings and twisting through derelict game stands.

Have some afternoon drink by the beach at the beach club

One I visited was the Tropicalo Beach club owned by the people who created the Mexico Bar, established last year. An 80’s concept diner vibe restaurant in Seminyak. A 45 minute drive from Kuta proper. They open around 11 AM and serve you alcohol anytime you want. Well it’s 5 o’clock somewhere. In terms of music, it’s all loud party music. And don’t forget to apply sunscreen if you’re planning to visit at day time. The sun is a bit rough.

Eat Like a Balinese

Everywhere is super cheap but if you have a little extra and can afford restaurants it will do as well, but for us we want to taste the local food. I wish I took a lot of photos of the food we ate but oh well it was too good to remember taking pics of it.

Go surf-up the Indonesian waves

Bali, Indonesia has one of the best waves in Asia. So if you’re a surf enthusiast you should check out the surfing points around the island. The one I went to was actually an exiled one which has a very little number of people around. The only challenge is that you need to hike up and down just to see and experience this beauty.

Explore hidden beaches

When you want to experience such exotic and different scene than the usual Kuta and Seminyak beaches you probably consider hiking or going off route than the usual spot where tourist flocks. Since the early 2000s, Bali became a destination for people who wants vacation with a touch of wellness. They opted Bali as a destination since Hawaii became so famous and expensive. Tourists became Expats and you sometimes bump into them as your local guide or a receptionist in your hostels. Sometimes we opted to ask those local people who can converse well with you and ask for those pointers on where the least touristy places to check out. I am sure they can suggest 1 or 2.

Breakfast like a boss.

Book a villa that will let you eat breakfast like no other. Bali is famous for their floating breakfast. For sure most hotels and villas that has pool can provide this experience.

Places to visit When In Southern California

SoCal is not just about The Hollywood sign or the walk of fame. It offers more than just hunting down the celebrities and going on a trip to Disneyland. So here are the things to visit if you’re not into crowded places:

Places to see

Death Valley National Park

Death Valley National Park straddles eastern California and Nevada. It’s known for Titus Canyon, with a ghost town and colorful rocks, and Badwater Basin’s salt flats. North of the spiky salt mounds known as the Devil’s Golf Course, rattlesnakes live in Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes. [1]

In this below-sea-level basin, steady drought and record summer heat make Death Valley a land of extremes. Yet, each extreme has a striking contrast. Towering peaks are frosted with winter snow. Rare rainstorms bring vast fields of wildflowers. Lush oases harbor tiny fish and refuge for wildlife and humans. Despite its morbid name, a great diversity of life survives in Death Valley.[2]

In 1849 emigrants bound for California's gold fields strayed into the 120-mile long basin, enduring a two-month ordeal of "hunger and thirst and an awful silence." One of the last to leave looked down from a mountain at the narrow valley and said, "Good-bye, Death Valley."[3]

Slab City

Slab City, also called The Slabs, is largely a snowbird community in the Sonoran Desert located in Imperial County, California, 100 miles northeast of San Diego and 169 miles southeast of Los Angeles within the California Badlands, and used by recreational vehicle owners and squatters from across North America.[1]

San Diego

San Diego is a city on the Pacific coast of California known for its beaches, parks and warm climate. Immense Balboa Park is the site of the renowned San Diego Zoo, as well as numerous art galleries, artist studios, museums and gardens. A deep harbor is home to a large active naval fleet, with the USS Midway, an aircraft-carrier-turned-museum, open to the public.[1]

Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach is a small coastal city in Orange County, California. It’s known for its many art galleries, coves and beaches. Main Beach features tide pools and a boardwalk leading to the paths and gardens of nearby Heisler Park. Aliso Beach Park is a popular surf spot. The waters off Crystal Cove State Park are designated as an underwater park. Trails meander through coastal canyons in Laguna Coast Wilderness Park.[1]

Malibu

Malibu is a city west of Los Angeles, California. It’s known for its celebrity homes and beaches, including wide and sandy Zuma Beach. To the east is Malibu Lagoon State Beach, known as Surfrider Beach for its waves. Nearby is the Spanish Revival–style Adamson House, with local history displays in its Malibu Lagoon Museum. Inland, trails weave through canyons, waterfalls and grasslands in the Santa Monica Mountains.[1]

Venice Beach

Venice Beach is a district of LA and is best known for its boardwalk although there is a lot more to do than just stroll along the edge of the beach. The area was conceived in 1905 by Abbott Kinney who wanted to recreate Venice by building a complex system of canals,, today only a few of the original canals have survived. In the 50s and 60s the people from the art, culture and entertainment industry flocked here making it a hot bed of creativity, radical activism and liberal free thinkers. It remains an area of cultural diversity and creativity.[1]

Griffith Observatory

The Griffith Observatory is a facility in Los Angeles, California, sitting on the south-facing slope of Mount Hollywood in Los Angeles' Griffith Park. It commands a view of the Los Angeles Basin, including Downtown Los Angeles to the southeast, Hollywood to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the southwest.[1]

Joshua Tree National Park

Joshua Tree National Park is open year-round. There are few facilities within the park's approximately 800,000 acres, making Joshua Tree a true desert wilderness just a few hours outside Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, and Phoenix. About 2.8 million visitors come to the park each year to enjoy activities such as hiking, camping, photography, rock climbing, and simply enjoying the serene desert scenery. The busy season in Joshua Tree runs from October through May.[1]

The Getty Villa

The Getty Villa is one of two locations of the J. Paul Getty Museum. Located at the easterly end of the Malibu coast in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, California.[1]

Santa Monica Pier

The Santa Monica Pier is a large double-jointed pier at the foot of Colorado Avenue in Santa Monica, California that is over 100 years old.[1]

Austinreeee X Hello Kitty

It was sunny. It was windy. It was chilly. It was cool. —

Thats how you describe the day we went up to the rooftop of an old apartment in Spadina.

This is Austin, I met this cray-cray during the cold days of winter when he visited Toronto and through my brother who is one of the wasteman, Calvin. Since then, we became good friends and always talk about creating online content besides tinder dates… loljk.

Tag hello kitty please. we want sponsors! LMAO. But seriously the bag was a great add up to the aesthetics.

Who would’ve thought that a Hello Kitty bag can be a good aesthetics for shoots. Right!? But we pulled it off and here are some shots —

“I am definitely holding on tight… tighter than my ex’s ever had” he said. (LMAO JK)

This is how weird we spend our weekends. All you need to do is follow these steps;

First, find someone who can pull off a hello kitty bag as their personal carry-on bag.

Secondly, you need a person who has the door key of the main doors. Security checks.

Third, always consider the weather… obviously!

Fourth, don’t let anyone know your motives… especially don’t talk about it when you’re in the elevator. They might wanna go with you too.

Fifth and the most important step, you need to know the superintendent of the building to have access with all the keys in all the fire exit doors. Sick!

Notes: If you can’t do the fifth step, better go home and watch Netflix. loljk

Wild Rose County

Finally, after I moved to Canada in 2016, I decided to visit my family in Alberta. The last time I saw them was 2006. I know, I was like 13 year old by that time.

The moment I got off from their airport I immediately greeted by the fresh breeze of the province. One thing reminded me of the scent was those car fresheners with pine tree scent.

I made a few friends there too! I stayed on my cousin’s friend and played halo 3 all night long.

The day we decided to drive 4 hours to see these beaut —

It was one of the most highlighted event happenings yet. I never thought of seeing such beauty of Mother nature. I was filled with amusement while we were driving the curvy path ways of both Jasper and Banff National Parks.

Alberta isn’t just that…

And this isn’t photoshopped at all. I never imagined I can go to these places that I thought I only see in magazines and newspapers.

Those 7 days wasn’t enough to see this beautiful province of Alberta.

Besides visiting the famous Banff and Jasper, you can check out the land of the Dinos called Drumheller and their capital city Edmonton.
